What’s the Point in Living

I remember rather nostalgically sitting on the sofa on Monday night from 7 PM watching WWF on KBC long ago. That 40 minute long awing program of men knocking on each other senselessly. But that is neither here nor there.

What is more memorable and vivid are the commercial breaks which were rather annoying since they’d always come on when my favorite contender was hooking the others leg only for it to return when he was defeated then I would skip supper. But I digress…

Do you remember that ad with a hot chic in red with her dude chilling in the middle of nowhere n wordlessly light each others cigarette n draw luxuriously n exhale slowly? Then u hear that voice in all ads saying,”Embassy Lights, smooth all the way”
A decade or so later, they say smoking kills but didn’t they know then or are they just recent discoveries? Now there ain’t many of ads around,but cigarettes are still around … Hence smoking zones.

Whenever guys go out,alcohol n roast meat are commonplace. Yet alcohol gives you cirrhosis and you’ll die,roast meat gives you gout and suffer same fate. For teetotalers like me,taking a soda is equally unsafe. They contain caffeine which is an equivalent of liquid cigarettes to kill your lung cells n eventually,asphyxia does you in. Not to mention the additives which catalyse the process. Don’t even go to fruit juice, it gets worse…

My calendar says its February, where lovers gouge each other out with cakes,chips,chicken,chocolates and ice cream. These are said to literally ‘fatten’ you for the kill! If you go the whole nine yards and do a sheet ruffle or you get dumped and resort to five knuckle shuffle,u release chemicals in your brain that get you well,high…won’t kill you but doesn’t strengthen you either!

White bread lowers immunity levels while eggs over-protenise the system n makes you vulnerable to maladies. Sugar gives you diabetes while salt gives you stroke. What takes the cake and breaks the camels back is that radiowaves from phones, earphones, speakers and the likes cause cancer. In addition,every hour watching TV raises chances of death by cardiovascular disease by 20% and cancer too.

So in short,there is nothing that won’t kill you even waking up could be harmful let alone sleeping… So whats the point?
