ImageI switched off my desktop and had already started packing my books into my bag when I felt the door creak open. I was short of saying that it was after hours when I saw Mark enter the room. I smiled; this boy had started to view me as a father figure though I was just his best friend’s father who occasionally spoke to both of them. He found me very intriguing, which made me wish he was my son. Of course this was in private, I loved my son like any father would and he had made me proud for the twenty one years of his existence. Mark had been his friend since high school and I found the soft spoken Mark amiable and charming in a way I could not place.

I stopped packing the books and walked to the door to usher the unexpected but welcome visitor…
